Poem: Of Life, Love, and Death

Written on 8/28/2006 – 9:55 pm | by keysinunez.com | 1,337 Views

the willing well holds deep and true
deep murky waters in the dark
chains clinking in the soft breeze
covering the sky with sparks

her white fabric flows in the wind
projecting ghastly images in the mind
her hair is tangled beyond belief
loosed in its eternal bind

yet those doe eyes behold
a crushing love untold
of sacrifice and selflessness
causing death and restlessness

deceit intertwined in words
breaking hearts of stone and stone of hearts
the vision of life ebbs away
as the dejected wandering wanderer strays

the fire of hate ever blazes
as reason’s burned to ashes
no more can vision behold
the beauty as life unfolds.
