The Monkey Statue at Baywalk (READ: The Manny Pacquiao Statue)

Four days ago, Shari talked about Manny Pacquiao and how Lito Atienza wanted to erect a statue of him at Baywalk. I almost fell off my seat just laughing at how it would look like. Will he be wearing ad-infested-purontong-shorts? Will he sport the Makdo Smile or the Alaxan Smile? Will he be standing, holding up his championship belt or will he be sitting on top of Atienza’s shoulders? Will the statue include his wife and kids in the background? Will it include reporters and TV camera crews swarming around him like flies? LOL.

I can’t stop laughing. But really. I’ve thought of writing an I-Hate-Pacquiao article on the day he won. Why just now? I’m just plain sick and effing tired of seeing his TV ads, his billfuckingboards, his voice in the radio, his effing name on every newspaper! Why are people worshipping this guy? Why are they not worshipping other athletes and their contributions to the country? IMHO, the effing media should lavish the same attention to Paeng Nepomuceno. He’s achieved so much compared to Pacquiao. Heck, he even looks like a human being, not some cro-magnon shitpicker.

You want a list of atheletes who deserve better recognition?
1. Dorothy Delasin: Won 3 Golf World Championships
2. Gabriel “Flash” Elorde: World Junior Lightweight Boxing Champion; defended his title in 7 bouts for 10 years
3. Jethro “the Jet” Dionisio: 6-time World Champion in Pistol Shooting

Gads, the list goes on. And yes, I agree with Pinoy Stupid. There’s no point in celebrating a victory everyfuckingday. I say throw a grand party, then forget about it the day after. If people want it to be a daily event, then throw parties for the other athletes as well. Effing erect statues for the others too! After all, there are a lot more people there who deserve recognition.

This is pinoy crab mentality at its best. Yeah, just keep on shitting about the pacman like everybody else who hates pinoy over-achievers.

For now, Manny is the only Pinoy athlete recognized highly by the world in the sport of boxing. Its just his over-exposure by the media that's giving him a bad rep. Maybe thats why crabs want to diss on him..
