Glorified Version of A Stranger

Beep beepbeep beep beepbeep beepbeep!

I blinked my drowsy eyes as I switched off the alarm clock. I shifted my gaze to the window and beheld the sun rising between Rockwell buildings, shedding light onto the darkened sky. I sighed. New day, same old shit.

It was only 5:30. I had enough time for a few cups of coffee and maybe watch an episode or two of my favorite anime. I slowly made my way to the kitchen, careful not to bump into shit, to make coffee.

I head back to my room, switched on the computer and waited for it to boot. I glanced at the girl sleeping soundly on my bed. She looked so tranquil curled like a child, even snoring lightly. I smiled. At least someone’s getting enough sleep.

Careful not to step on the litter in my room, I made my way back to the kitchen, poured the steaming coffee into my mug and savored the aroma before taking a sip. I instantly felt better. The computer sounded the completion of the boot process as I was heading back to my room.

5:40, the clock showed. I inserted the Anime DVD and played the 135th Episode of the series. I was halfway into the series when my phone rang. It was a friend. He asked where I was. He said that he was already in the office, waiting for me. I grinned and slurred that I just got out of the bathroom, and that I would meet him in 20 minutes.

So much for coffee and anime, I thought as I rushed to the bathroom. Another rush, another day, same old shit.
