The Glorietta Explosion: Accident or Bombing?

Written on 10/19/2007 – 4:34 pm | by keysinunez.com | 4,135 Views

Glorietta BombingAt around 1:40 PM, there was a big-assed explosion over at the Glorietta 2.

As of this writing 4 people were found dead (Liza Marquez, Jose Allan de Jersus, Lester Peregrina, and nursing student Janine Marcos), while over 50 people were injured. Most of the victims were rushed to the Makati Medical Center. Most of the victims were children. Makati Medical Center Doctor Ernesto Santos confirmed that they received a total of 51 patients, including the four who were found dead. Two of the 51 were in critical condition.

Witnesses say that the explosion was so strong that they felt it up to the third level of the mall. Other eye-witnesses say that when the explosion occurred, they noticed the guards just staring around doing nothing.

Philippine National Police Director General Avelino Razon said: “From our assessment this is not what was initially reported as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas)”. Razon further comments, “This was a bomb. But beyond that we can’t say anything else yet because we are still investigating. What I can say is it was not LPG that caused this.” Ayala Corp spokesman Alfonso Reyes on the other hand claims that any reports on the explosion were purely speculation.

My question is, Is this a tragic accident or is this a bombing? So far, no one has claimed responsibility (if this really was a bombing - although someone related to the bomb squad dispatched in the area texted us that it really was a bomb). On the other hand, I can’t help but think that the government may be connected to this. Is this their idea of drawing the country’s attention from the bribery to a tragedy?

It was a real shocker!! Can't barely imagine that that happened!! I first heard it from Benj at Twitter - I didn't believe it... As much as possible I don't want to think that it's true. One because I have this scheduled meeting with a client @ Luk Yuen (IMAGINE?!?!) Good thing our client cancelled!

I don't want to turn out as a burned Chinese dish, ah...

And another thing... I think it's the government behind it (I dunno)

maybe, maybe. for now we can all speculate. then again, the government manages to feed everyone crap - and the masses believe them. sadly.

Well, that's just a speculation. But with our government's status and everything... And with what the government and media's feeding us, it really is hard.

    Martial Law, you think?

My wish is for us to get the real story behind the blast. Unfortunately, we are being informed by authorities who suffer very low in credibility. I would trust the opinion of disinterested parties more like the Australian bomb experts and FBI. We must all demand for a more credible CSI report!!! Otherwise, the perpetrators will not only get away with the crime, they will also succeed in taking us for a ride to hell!!!

connie remo: We should get the CSI's from abroad to do the fucking investigation, instead of the usual fucktards in the government. F!NCH: dude, almost everyone says that the government is behind all whacked out things, but I'd have to agree with you on this one.

sana nga maliwanagan na. pero baka puro asa lang gawin natin. you know how things are in the government. bickering and bigotry and the like. sorry about your sales man. i'm sure things will start picking up in a few weeks.
