Food Post #2: Roast Porkchops with Potatoes and Leeks
And so the challenge of coming up with a gourmet meal continues. I came up with something original. One thing I hate is that I don’t have them big white plates for better presentation. Anyway, after several failures and misses in my cooking, I managed to come up with something pleasing to both the eyes and the mouth.
If you’re trying this recipe, please let me know how it turns out in your end. Also, let me know what else can be added to improve the taste.
Here’s the recipe:
Roast Porkchops with Potatoes and Leeks
a. Pork chops
b. Marble potatoes
c. Onion leeks
d. Dried Rosemary
e. Dried Oregano
f. Balsamic Vinegar
g. Salt
h. Pepper
i. Soy Sauce
j. Lemon / Kalamansi
Potatoes and Leeks:
Boil water and add the following ingredients: marble potatoes, salt, pepper, dried oregano, and onion leeks. The leeks should be done after 30 seconds, take them out and set aside; leave some in the pot and boil until the potatoes are done. Immediately take out the potatoes and place in a covered container to keep warm.
Pork Chops:
Marinate your porkchops in a mixture of soy sauce, fresh lemon juice/kalamansi juice, rosemary, salt, and pepper. I marinated my porkchops overnight for better taste. After several hours, roast/flame grill your porkchops until a bit charred, or until you get your desired texture.
Sauce:
Mix the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and a dash of salt and pepper and pour on potatoes.
Slice your potatoes in half and arrange on a plate.
My presentation looked like this:
Enjoy!

Ooh, Imma try this. Once, I marinated chicken and pork belly overnight and cooked half of it then stuck the rest back in the freezer. Wrong move, the last batch ended up too salty.

I love using balsamic vinegar too. Somehow it makes me feel that I'm 10X better as a cook. LOL
