I Won LadyGadFly’s PS2 DVD Contest!

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 | 1,036 Views

Removing Another Brick in the WallLOLz. I won!!!1 I never thought I would, but I did. Hoink.

I remember that on the day that I received an email (thanks to PBS) about her game, I thought of a lot of things to write, and ultimately listed down some of the games that I’ve managed to complete. Making that list was really tedious, considering that the titles went back to 2002 or so, but it was fun and a bit shocking on my part.

After proofreading the post, I was like, WTF?! I spent all those hours playing? LOL. No wonder I didant have friends. Hahaha! (more…)

Speed Links #1

Friday, June 1st, 2007 | 1,386 Views

I’ve decided that starting today, I’ll be coming up with regular weekly posts on Speed Links.

What are Speed Links? Simple. Every week, there’ll be a new post on stuff that I’ve read. It’ll be a two to three liner about a blogger and his/her latest post, and there’ll be around five or so that will be featured for the week. One top level link for their blog, and 1 deep link for their post. This’ll be great! Cool huh?

What’s it for and why go through all the trouble? Well, I’ve done Speed Links before here and the results have been awesome. My Technorati ranking shot up 25,000 places up, and I wanna help out other blogs who need the links. (more…)

Blog: I tried overclocking my PC!

Friday, June 1st, 2007 | 1,222 Views

OverclockingThis morning, when I arrived home, I played around with my BIOS for bit, thinking that I could somehow overclock with a few BIOS tweaks. Bad idea! After saving my changes and restarting Sofie (yes, my computer, among other things, has a name), I got NO POST. LOL Just one long-assed beep. It’s gotta be memory right? So I reseated my two memory modules and powered up. Yay! I’m back up, but it’s detecting only my processor. No nothing beyond that. Irritatated at the thought of reopening my CPU, I hastened and reseated my memory modules again and was about to screw the cover back on when I remembered that I’d been putting off fixing my CD-RW drive, so I unplugged the cables to my drive and proceeded to tear it’s guts out.

After completely dismantling the cover and the bezel for the CD-RW drive, i found a big-assed piece of a broken CD. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Let me tell you the story of how a CD shattered inside the drive. (more…)

Linking and Deep Linking: The Differences

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 | 802 Views

Linking is considered to be one of the vitals in SEO, however there are three types of links:
1. Link
2. Deep Link

Links are when you link to the top most level of a domain (for example, this great site linking to Ajay), while Deep Linking is when you link to older posts on your blog. Obviously, we do not have control over what readers link to. By posting links to your old posts, you inform your readers the past articles that they may have missed reading.

For example, back in 2005, I posted a rather short article on the UAAP Cheerdance Competition Winners. This was when the hype was all over Undernet. LOL. Believe it or not, this is one of the most popular posts in this blog.

There’s no point in linking to older posts that are not related to the post that you are writing. We should make sure that the information that we provide our readers really benefit them. There’s no point in posting about the 2006 UAAP Cheerdance Competition Winners in this post since this isn’t about UAAP or cheerdancing, ain’t it? LOLOLOLOL Well, whatever, as long as the post is seamless and flowing, and as long as it doesn’t affect the readership of your blog, then go ahead and start Deep Linking.

Lastly, there are lots of aggregators out there. Most of these aggregators copy all the text and links in your RSS Feed, so by the time that the aggregators publish your post, you have backlinks galore!

Obviously, we all can see the importance of Deep Linking. It helps not only the blog owner, but the reader as well. So all in all Deep Linking helps in your SEO and overall rank of your blog.

In this post alone, I have made one link to my site, one line to my RSS Feed, and three deep links to my other older articles. Surely I’ll get more love from Google this time~ How about you?

The EVIL rel=nofollow and what to do in order to remove it

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 | 625 Views

New to Wordpress? No idea what DoFollow is? Then read on!

Several days ago, I installed the DoFollow plugin for Wordpress. What this nifty little plugin does is that it removes the uber-evil nofollow attribute from your comments.

rel=nofollow < -- EVIL!!!

Google is planning on announcing support for rel=nofollow tag on individual A links. Any link with this tag will indicate to a crawler it is not necessarily approved by this page and shouldn’t be followed nor contribute weight for ranking. source: X X

Why remove this EVALLLLL nofollow attribute?
1. for SEO purposes: website popularity is measured with the number of links to the site
2. share the love with your readers and commenters by allowing them to link to their sites from your site
3. I’m a good man. I’m not selfish.

How to remove the evil rel=nofollow attribute:
1. download any nofollow plugin that you want
2. extract and upload the plugin to your wp-plugins directory via FTP
3. go to your wordpress plugin page
4. activate the plugin

Currently, I’m using the dofollow plugin from Semilogic. You may download the file here. It’s been great that almost all the blogs I comment in have removed the evil nofollow attribute If you haven’t installed it yet, you may want to install it now, so you could return the link love that you’ve been getting.

You can also choose from several dofollow plugins at the wp-plugins.net site.

Joyride: The Alexa Redirect Train

Friday, May 25th, 2007 | 2,191 Views

AlexaPicked this up in Ate Melai’s site.

Hey if it’s free and it’s for a better ranking, then let’s do it!
Carl must be a fucking genius to come up with this shit.
You teh man Carl!

The main idea here is to come up with a list of blogs/bloggers with an Alexa redirect link to their blog, because if you go to a site through an Alexa redirect, it’s automatically added to your rankings~

Upgrade to Wordpress 2.2 now!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007 | 1,849 Views

WordpressWordpress has released version 2.2 of their CMS software approximately 19 hours ago. It’s labeled Getz in honor of tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and has been downloaded 18,840 times as of this post.

Here are a few features that have been added/tweaked/modded:

1. WordPress Widgets allow you to easily rearrange and customize areas of your weblog (usually sidebars) with drag-and-drop simplicity. This functionality was originally available as a plugin Widgets are now included by default in the core code, significantly cleaned up, and enabled for the default themes.
2. Full Atom support, including updating our Atom feeds to use the 1.0 standard spec and including an implementation of the Atom Publishing API to complement our XML-RPC interface.
3. A new Blogger importer that is able to handle the latest version of Google’s Blogger product and seamlessly import posts and comments without any user interaction beyond entering your login.
4. Infinite comment stream, meaning that on your Edit Comments page when you delete or spam a comment using the AJAX links under each comment it will bring in another comment in the background so you always have 20 items on the page. (I know it sounds geeky, but try it!)
5. We now protect you from activating a plugin or editing a file that will break your blog.
6. Core plugin and filter speed optimizations should make everything feel a bit more snappy and lighter on your server.
7. We’ve added a hook for WYSIWYG support in a future version of Safari.

Blog: What’s up Keysi? =) Project Makyu Uyeah!

Friday, May 4th, 2007 | 2,077 Views

Project MakyuToday’s the last day of training. It’s been 3 months (more or less) since I started working here and so far everything’s been great! I’ve never been this happy in my life. Career-wise and Karir-wise.

A friend of mine’s going abroad. She’ll be gone for a year (or more) to study in the United States. It’s kinda sad because we’ve developed something really cool in our weekend bondings. I remember that I didn’t like her at all when I first met her (I’m sure she didn’t like me too), but we’re pretty close. It’s been really great.. it is~ (more…)

Site Updates // Keysi’s Top Ten Daily Reads

Friday, April 20th, 2007 | 3,472 Views

How do you like my new look?

I’ve totally scrapped the old theme and added a bit more features on this new one.

1. Adsense revenue is a bit higher (i don’t know what else to do to increase it. help? lol).
2. Added the site meter for useful stats from TTLB.
3. The MyBlogLog widget has been modified to exclude the name of the visitor. The avatar has also been shrunk.
4. Lotsa linkages added.
5. Site ranking from technorati has also been added.
6. Removed several buttons (that apparently made no sense at all).
7. Tag cloud has been removed (primarily because the fucking widgets aren’t saving the modifications).
8. Most popular posts have been removed and replaced by post popularity.
9. Contact option has been beefed up to include forms and other options. (no CAPTCHA bullshit allowed in here. lol).
10. Google and Bidvertiser ads now integrated with the theme. (more…)

Updating Wordpress Themes

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 | 1,527 Views

keysinunez.com is ready for a new look. Please bear with the inconvenience as I change my blogs undies. *drools*

***UPDATE***

If you’re a regular reader of this website, you’ll notice that there’s a lot missing from the sidebar. That’s because I’m leaving it at that for now because *yells* I’m freaking tired of Internet Explorer!!! My widgets arent saving the data I input. LOL. This is so effin stressful. Firefox users, would you mind leaving a comment if there’s something wrong with the site?

I’d appreciate any feedback. I haven’t scrapped the old Minimalist Theme yet so if everyone likes the old one better I’d be happy to revert. Comments please? ;)

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s GRINDHOUSE!

Monday, April 16th, 2007 | 1,810 Views

I’m so excited I don’t even know what to put in here *laffs* so before anything else, let me thank Talamasca. I got this from his blog.

I guess I should start with the synopsis of the movies (Warning: I suck at writing synopses). Yeah. GRINDHOUSE is composed of two movies: Planet Terror and Death Proof. Here are the details:

Planet Terror:
Directed by Robert Rodriguez
Two doctors find their graveyard shifts full of townspeople infected with gangrenous sores and suspicious blank look in their eyes. There is a go-go dancer amoung their patients whose leg got ripped off in a highway/roadside attack. She loses her leg but does something completely rad to it that she leads her ex-husband, and a few survivors to a war against the mystery. (more…)

OMG OMG OMG!!! Naruto Arena Releases the Legendary Sannins!

Monday, March 19th, 2007 | 1,288 Views

Like I said, OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!

I’ve played (and was addicted, thank you very much) Naruto Arena. I’ve yet to unlock Kimimaro when I heard that the staff released the four Jounins teachers, it took me several days before I got the chance to play again and managed to unlock Sakon. I started playing again but everyone was showing off strong ass characters (i.e. Kakashi, Asuma, Gai, Kurenai). So being Mr. Competitive, I was aiming to unlock Kimimaro, and then they drop the bomb and release the Sannins. =\

LoL. Anyway, I’m gonna try and play like crazy in order to be able to unlock all characters. I’m sure a lot of players are going nuts just imagining what the Sannins (i.e. Orochimaru, Jiraiya, Tsunade Sandaime) can do.

Hay~ *sigh*

Website Tweaking / WP-Theme: ShutterView

Monday, February 26th, 2007 | 826 Views

I’m doing some tweaking here. I found out eons ago that the keywords and categories don’t return shite when you click on them, so here I am browsing the UTW website for the fix.

I guess I’m a little bit pwned. :/

UPDATE:

this issue has just been PWNED! I just updated my Permalinks.

Hurumph~

On the otherhand, my friend Will is on the final stages of releasing one of his masterpieces: the Wordpress Theme aptly named, Shutterview. Read more here.

I can’t wait for it to be released. I need a good plugin such as this. I’ve been scouring the web vaults for worthy plugins but I could not reconcile myself for their functionality.

Will, dude, good luck in your theme development. I know it’ll be finally out soon~ :D

Details, details details~~

1. I resigned from West (complete with a two-week effectivity notice).
2. I was on vacation for three weeks.
3. I am now employed at Dell International Services (same position).
4. I have limited internet access (don’t want to jeopardize my career early~).
5. I finally found a company that solidly supports their employee’s career.
6. I’m stretching the budget (and I mean streeeeetch~).
7. My VideoCard has been upgraded to 256MB, thanks to Benito.
8. I can finally appreciate PC Gaming: Diablo 2 (not Lord of Destruction), Battle for Middle Earth 2, Civilization 3, Civilization 4 Warlords, and several other older games.
9. Currently at Episode 118 for One Piece.

Hello World!

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 | 6,664 Views

After almost 5 weeks offline, keysinunez.com is now back online thanks to the heroic efforts of Will and Carlo. Doods, I owe you guys a lot for bringing my site back online. I know my DB is HELLUVA huge, gargantuan even, but despite that, you were able to resolve it. I wouldn’t know what to do without you guys.

Why, you may ask, was my website offline? No, it wasn’t the Paclanders. It was a group of shit-for-brained twits who disabled/deleted my account with them. No warnings, no email, no IM’s, no nothing. My reaction? I wanted to slit their fukcing throats and have them skull-fukced by their own kind. But enough of the bashing. Soon I will have revenge. If you’ve been following my blog, you already know that my hatred tends to run very, very deep. I’ve moved on…. NOT!!! The moment I get a chance at these dikcheads, I’m gonna make sure that they get a taste of their own medicine. Gyaaaaaaaah~ Gomu Gomu no!!!

Anyway, I don’t want this post ending up like a long-short story. Updates soon.

Frances + Botchay: Project Makyu and Feed1369 will be up soon. Standby please.

The Monkey Statue at Baywalk (READ: The Manny Pacquiao Statue)

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 | 2,264 Views

Four days ago, Shari talked about Manny Pacquiao and how Lito Atienza wanted to erect a statue of him at Baywalk. I almost fell off my seat just laughing at how it would look like. Will he be wearing ad-infested-purontong-shorts? Will he sport the Makdo Smile or the Alaxan Smile? Will he be standing, holding up his championship belt or will he be sitting on top of Atienza’s shoulders? Will the statue include his wife and kids in the background? Will it include reporters and TV camera crews swarming around him like flies? LOL.

I can’t stop laughing. But really. I’ve thought of writing an I-Hate-Pacquiao article on the day he won. Why just now? I’m just plain sick and effing tired of seeing his TV ads, his billfuckingboards, his voice in the radio, his effing name on every newspaper! Why are people worshipping this guy? Why are they not worshipping other athletes and their contributions to the country? IMHO, the effing media should lavish the same attention to Paeng Nepomuceno. He’s achieved so much compared to Pacquiao. Heck, he even looks like a human being, not some cro-magnon shitpicker.

Manny Pacquiao Makes Me Sick

Saturday, November 25th, 2006 | 3,845 Views

IMHO, we shouldn’t even be calling him a friggin hero. Yes, I agree with Pinoy Stupid that he is a monkey. I mean, look at him man!

Not that I’m dying of bitterness and envy, but man, why should he be called a friggin hero when all he did was beat foreign boxers for money? What’s more is that the media’s sensationalizing this primate to levels that exceed sensationalism. Everywhere you go you see his god-forsaken face. Heck, he’s even in the cover of a magazine. This is the first time that I’ve seen a friggin monkey make it to a magazine cover. Gah~

The world’s probably going to end sooner than I think.
